Artarmon Public School Canteen operates via the Munchmonitor System for ‘online ordering’ and ‘cashless over the counter sales’. Munch Monitor improves the operating efficiency of our canteen and makes life easier for busy families by allowing them to:
- order lunches online up to 4 weeks in advance (up to 9am on the day) and no more worries about your child forgetting to put their order in;
- top-up the account online using VISA/MasterCard (or if you prefer with cash at the canteen);
- provide a preset daily allowance of ‘snack money’ for your child to spend over the counter from your account using their personal MM keytag rather than cash;
- easily manage food choices through allergy alerts, menu limits and spending limits; and
- obtain reports on spending & nutrition
To set up your MUNCHMONITOR account.

(Lunch orders can also be written on a large paper bag, clearly labeled with your child's name and class, with correct money included. On arrival at school, the lunch orders should be placed in the ‘class lunch order box’ for Kindergarten and Yr 1; or in the box provided outside the Primary School Office for Yrs 2 – 6. All lunch orders must be in the collection boxes by 9:15am)
Lunch orders are prepared and class helpers collect the filled boxes at 12:30pm from the Canteen. Once lunches are distributed the class helpers are asked to bring the class box straight back to the Canteen ready for the next day.
Please be aware of the following guidelines to ensure smooth operation and use of the Artarmon School Canteen:-
- Munchmonitor –orders must be placed by 9.00am for same day delivery.
- Late Lunch Orders – Lunch order bags received after 11.00am will not usually receive hot food as cooking has already commenced. Children who hand in late lunch orders after 11.00am will be given a sandwich.
- If insufficient money is placed in the lunch order bag, the child will be provided with food to the value of the money provided.
- Ice creams, hot chocolate and soup cannot be pre-ordered; these menu items are available for ‘over the counter sales only.
- Children with food allergies must not visit the Canteen to purchase food over the counter unless they have a Munchmonitor account. Parents are strongly encouraged to use the Munchmonitor system, allowing them to set an allergy alert and select those foods their children may purchase.
- Primary children may bring two (2) friends to visit the Canteen when a Parent or Grandparent are volunteering in the Canteen (subject to the final approval of the volunteer). Infants can visit their volunteer parent or grandparent, but may not bring friends to canteen.
- Children who purchase over the counter items at morning tea or lunchtime are limited to a quantity of two (2) for any given item.
- Children in the Infants are not allowed to visit the canteen at morning tea.
- Children who have no food (forgotten / lost / dropped lunches) and have no money, will be provided with a sandwich by the canteen and a slip will be sent home with the child stating the food provided and payment required. Please send payment to the canteen the following day.
Canteen Management / Volunteers
“We Need Your Help”
The Artarmon School Canteen is run by our Canteen Manager, Michele Stockley-Smith and staffed by parent and grandparent volunteers.
The volunteers donate their time once a month to prepare food and serve the students – they provide a valuable service to the school community. The Canteen is run as a business enterprise and provides a valuable contribution towards resources for all students at the School.
To operate the Canteen efficiently we require at least 3 volunteers every day of the school term (from 9.30am until 1:30pm). If you have some time to donate to the School Canteen we would really appreciate hearing from you and your child will love to see you helping at Canteen.
Please contact Michele Stockley-Smith at the canteen on 9411 1425 (daytime – but not during the pre-lunch rush 12.00 – 12.30pm!) to discuss your options.
