1GS - Ned Kelly
1GS studied the artist Sidney Nolan. Sidney Nolan was an Australian artist intested in portraying the story of Ned Kelly. He painted and drew hundreds of pictures taking inspiration from the Australian landscape, flora and animals and depicting Ned Kelly wearing his iconic metal helmet and suit.

Excursion to Field of Mars Education Centre
I went to the Field of Mars. I went there on Wednesday.
I saw bees, and they made honey you
cannot eat. We climbed a mountain. We saw a ring tail’s nest in a tree.
I felt happy and also scared.
I thought I would fall over a rock when I slipped on a rock.
When I was climbing I was Irene’s partner. We heard lorikeets in the trees.
We saw a lake with a bridge.
It was fantastic.

Spiders
All of the spiders have different body parts.
Some spiders have different colours.
Some spiders have 6 or 8 eyes.
Spiders have 8 legs.
Some spiders have long and short legs.
Spiders live in the desert, mountains, rainforests,
near the sea and in the bush.
Spiders eat many different things just like insects.
Spiders can crawl and jump.
They can use their web to move around.
Spiders lay eggs.
They put them in a silk sac.

1S and 1W - Minibeasts
Last Thursday, 1S and 1K went to the Field of Mars.
First we went on a bush walk. Then we saw a possum’s home.
Next we ate morning tea. After we drew our shelters and then we built our shelters. Finally we ate lunch. We went on a minibeast hunt. I found one spider.
I felt happy because it was fun.

Year 2
At the beginning of winter my Dad was taking us to a hotel.
And my Mum said, “I’ll get you a fish you can put on a dish.” And my Dad said, “I’ll give you an egg you can kick with your leg, to go with the fish you can put on a dish.” And my sister said, “I’ll get you a car that is held on a bar, to go with the egg you can kick with your leg, to go with fish you can put on a dish.” And I said, “I don’t want to be mean but would one of you get me one bean?”

Description of an old car

The car is a light blue limited edition convertible Ford. It has a spare wheel on the left side. The car’s windscreen is broken with no wipers.
On both sides of the car there are long running boards. There are two wheels that are broken. The boot is for luggage and at the same time is used as a money box. It is a manual car with a left hand drive.
