The students at Artarmon Public School
take part in the running of the school. Some of the roles students assist in
are:
- Captains and Prefects - one captain,
one vice captain and four prefects
- Student Council - one from each Years 2
to 6 class
- Safety Patrol - five each day
- Library Duty - one each day
- Computer Monitor - two each day
Captains and Prefects
In Term 4, Year 5 students can nominate
themselves and others to run for school captain or prefect. These students
make a speech to convince the Year 5 students and teachers that they are the
best people for the job.
Student Council
The SRC members are chosen by their
classes to represent them in discussions, school activities and charity
fundraising.
Safety Patrol
Children in Year 5 are rostered to do
Safety Patrol duty from 8:30am to 9:00am. They open the car doors and help
K-2 students get out of their cars quickly and safely.
Library Duty
Year 6 students help the school librarian
around the library with the following duties:

shelving books

borrowing/returning books

supporting younger classes

organising the overdue notices
